✨ New

• Reasoning Effort: You can now set the reasoning level for OpenAI’s o3-mini and Claude 3.7 Sonnet (Reasoning). Increase it when you need deep analysis or dial it down for quicker, more straightforward problems. You can change it in the settings of your AI Chat or Presets. It isn’t supported in AI Commands yet.
• Favicon Provider: We added a new setting to let you pick your favicon provider or disable it altogether, allowing you to balance user experience and privacy. You can configure it via Raycast Settings → Advanced → Favicon Provider. Read more about it here.
• macOS Support: Raycast now requires macOS 13 or later. If you are still running macOS 12 you should consider upgrading to ensure you continue to receive updates to Raycast.

• Clipboard History: Changed the visual information for links setting to also enable or disable favicons
• AI: Improved handling AI Extension @mentions in root search
• AI Chat: Significantly improved performance when loading large code blocks

• Clipboard: Passwords should now be ignored when copied using the Passwords menu bar extension. Note: Requires the Passwords app to be excluded from Clipboard History and requires Accessibility permissions for Raycast.
• Calculator: The text in the search bar won’t be selected when performing calculations and temporarily hiding and reopening the Raycast window, allowing you to easily append text to the expression.
• Raycast Notes: Added an action to duplicate notes

⏲️ Auto-Join Meetings

Do you ever manage to get a lot of work done just before a meeting? We don’t either. It’s hard to concentrate when you’re worried about missing an upcoming meeting. But if we’re reminded at the right time… we can focus, even if it’s just for an extra 30 minutes.

This is why we’re releasing Auto-Join Meetings. When enabled and a meeting is about to begin, Raycast will show a prompt to join the meeting. If your conferencing app has its own confirmation screen already or you feel extra spicy, you can disable the alert and let Raycast auto-join you to meetings right away. You’ll only get auto-joined to events in your enabled calendars which have a meeting link attached.

Go to the My Schedule command preferences to enable it and give it a shot!

✨ New

• Workspace: Added the “Quit All Apps Except Frontmost” command. Use this feature to focus on a single task by quitting all other applications.

💎 Improvements

• AI Chat: Improved overall performance with long messages and attachments
• AI Chat: Added support for sending empty messages with attachments
• Focus: Added a toggle in the extension setting to allow all websites in Allow mode if a browser is allowed but no website is specified. Raycast Settings > Extensions Tab > Raycast Focus > Allow all Websites.

🐞 Fixes

• AI Chat: Fixed an issue where 1…9 indicators would get stuck in the list sometimes when switching apps
• Organizations: Fixed an issue with the organization upgrade button opening an incorrect URL
• Focus: Fixed website blocking not working with renamed browser apps

AI Extensions Beta

Part of what makes Raycast special is our rich, customizable extension ecosystem. As of today, extensions are getting a little smarter, and a lot more useful.

Introducing: AI Extensions

Setup a coding workflow, organize your day, book some time with a colleague on the fly... AI Extensions let you do this directly from Raycast without ever having to open an app or the browser. And all of this using simple, natural language.

Find your favorite extensions, now AI enabled, using the new filter in the Store. Once installed, simply type @ to explore the possibilities. AI Extensions can be used across Raycast AI. They’re supported in Quick AI, AI Chat, AI Commands, and AI Chat Presets.

💎 Improvements

• Raycast Focus: Added an option to define apps & websites you want to allow instead of blocking them. In Allow mode, all apps and websites except the ones you enter will be blocked. Find the switch in the Start Focus Session command.
• Raycast Focus: Added the Allow mode to the Shortcuts and system Focus filter. You may need to restart your Mac for the updated Shortcuts and filter to work.

🐞 Fixes

• Raycast Focus: Fixed label contrast in indefinite session menu bar item
• Open In Editor: Fixed an issue where opening items with the default editor would incorrectly open Finder instead

🎯 Custom Focus Categories

Raycast Focus became even more powerful! Introducing Custom Focus Categories, a new way to take control of your focus sessions. Now you can create personalized groups of apps and websites that align with your workflow, ensuring distractions stay at bay when you need to concentrate.

To get started, open Raycast and search Create Focus Category.

• Raycast Focus: You can now set a Focus filter at the system level to start a Raycast Focus session simultaneously with a system Focus, such as Do Not Disturb. For more information on setting it up, visit the manual page.
• Raycast Focus: Added two Apple Shortcuts to automatize your focus workflows: Start Focus Session and Complete Focus Session. Learn more about these Shortcuts here.

💎 Improvements

• Hyper Key: You can now opt-out of using the Shift key with Hyper key. Toggle this option in Raycast Advanced settings. This allows you to remap Hyper key to either ⌃⌥⇧⌘ or ⌃⌥⌘.
• Hyper Key: You can now use function keys (F1, F2...) to act as Hyper key
• Raycast Focus: Added session information to the status bar item's menu
• Raycast Focus: Introduced a deeplink to complete a session: raycast://focus/complete
• Raycast Focus: Included some RSS apps and websites in the News built-in category
• Raycast Focus: Changed the focus session status bar item icon to a standard monochrome icon for sessions with unlimited duration

✦ Hyper Key

Put your unused keys to work with our new Hyper Key feature. Transform a single key, such as Caps Lock, into the Hyper Key, which combines all four modifiers: ⌃⌥⌘⇧. This additional modifier key enhances your keyboard shortcuts across all apps, serving as a lightweight companion for boosting productivity with Raycast and other applications.

To customize the Hyper Key, go to Settings → Advanced → Hyper Key.

It’s not easy to stay up-to-date with all the new AI models that pop up every so often. Let alone actually try them and experience them first-hand. That’s why we’re continuing with our vision of building one UI that supports many models.

Today, we're adding a bunch of new models to Raycast AI! Including DeepSeek’s R1, which has taken the world by surprise last week. Reasoning models such as R1 and the new Sonar Reasoning are fascinating. They bridge the gap between raw data and human-like decision making. We’re launching Raycast Focus that lets you achieve your goals without any distractions. Simply use the “Start Focus Session” command to get started. Set a goal, define the duration you want to work on it, and select the apps and websites you want to block.

Disclaimer: Most of the data displayed is stored locally, and Raycast does not have access to it. If you moved between machines during the year, some of the data might have been lost. If you’ve used Raycast for less than 14 days, you will not have enough data to be displayed – but there’s always next year!

💎 Improvements

• Raycast Notes: You can now find and replace text in the note by pressing ⌘F or by using the “Find in Note” action in the action panel
• Raycast Notes: You can now increase or decrease note content scale with ⌘= and ⌘- shortcuts or by using “Zoom In” and “Zoom Out” actions in the action panel. The “Reset Zoom” action will make note content follow the general Raycast text size setting

• Window Management: Fixed commands failing on Outlook window
• System Settings Extension: Brought back commands for accessing inner System Settings preference panes such as Keyboard Shortcuts or Current Network Details

⚙️ Manage Auto Quits

A few weeks ago, we released Auto Quits, a feature that automatically quits applications after a period of inactivity. So far, Raycast auto-quit more than 1M applications. To make it easier to configure the feature, we’ve introduced a new Manage Auto Quits command. The command gives you an overview of your apps, lets you quickly change the interval, and for Pro users, lets you smartly set up multiple distracting apps at the same time.

🌐 Safari Browser Extension

Earlier this year we released a companion browser extension for Chromium-based browsers. Since then, we expanded its capabilities with AI Attachments and API. Today, we are releasing the same browser extension for Safari, bringing all its goodies to users who prefer Apple’s browser.
